EITHER SIDE OF AN EMPTY ROOM (2002)

In Either Side of an Empty Room (ESER) we hover over a series of non-interactive multi-layered videos presented as a composition of emerging frames which overlap, collapse and fill the computer‘s own bordered space. Employing the lyrical language of the cinema to compose an autobiographical portrait, ESER engages us in the possibility of technological intimacy. We see the artist caught in the oppositional states of dream and reality where the representation of the physical body, of a unique (yet shared) identity and of a hyper-personal intimacy garners a unique perspective...ESER is as such a fragmented and multiple portrait engaged in the representation of the psyche and body.
